Ersilia Verlinghieri
Ersilia Verlinghieri is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Westminster's Active Travel Academy and a Research Associate in Urban Mobility at the University of Oxford's Transport Studies Unit. Since 2012, her work focuses on developing theoretical and methodological approaches to social and environmental justice issues in transport, with a focus on participatory planning and research methodologies. Her PhD explored the proposals and strategies of grassroots transport campaigners in Brazil and Italy with whom she worked between 2013-2016. Subsequently, she has worked on different projects on transport poverty, transport justice and transport and health and has recently joined a project on the governance of radical mobility changes with the Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions. Between 2016 – 2020 she was also the Coordinator of the University of Oxford’s Global Challenges in Transport Programme, which brings together international practitioners, campaigners, and academics to discuss the future of sustainable transport.
